GLASS OPTIONS
SentryGlas® Laminated Glass (13.52mm)
SentryGlas is a premium, high-strength glass made by bonding two layers of toughened glass together with a special safety layer in the middle (called an SGP interlayer). It’s one of the strongest and safest options available for balustrades and pool fencing.
Why choose SentryGlas?
Super strong – It’s up to five times stronger and stiffer than standard laminated glass, making it ideal for exposed or high wind areas.
Stays together if broken – If the glass breaks, it stays stuck to the interlayer, which means it holds its shape and keeps people safe.
No top cap needed – Because of its strength, SentryGlas panels don’t require a handrail or top capping to meet safety standards (unless specifically requested).
Crystal-clear look – Made with low-iron glass so there’s no green tint — just a clean, ultra-clear finish.
Great for coastal homes – Handles tough weather, resists impact, and even helps reduce noise
Clear Float Toughened Glass
This is a single piece of glass that’s been heat-treated to make it much stronger than normal glass — about 4 to 5 times stronger. It’s one of the most common and cost-effective glass options used for balustrades and pool fences.
Why choose toughened float glass?
Strong and safe – If it does break, it shatters into small, blunt pieces instead of sharp shards.
Great clarity – Offers a clean and clear look that suits most modern homes.
Good value – Lighter and more affordable than laminated options, but still meets New Zealand safety standards.
Top cap required for high installs – If the fall height from the deck or platform is over 1 metre, a handrail or top cap is required to meet compliance.
